I picked up a used 2015 A4 a few months ago and honestly it's been great until about two weeks ago when I started noticing this faint whining sound when accelerating, almost like a supercharger but way less cool obviously. At first I thought it was just the tires or maybe a wheel bearing but my mechanic friend took a quick listen and reckons it's coming from the gearbox area. The car still drives fine, no warning lights or anything, but the noise is getting a bit louder especially when the engine's cold in the morning. I spent way too much time late last night going down a rabbit hole of transmission horror stories and ended up on http://auditransmissionrepair.ae/ (http://auditransmissionrepair.ae/) reading about CVT failures, and now I'm paranoid that I bought a ticking time bomb. Has anyone here actually had a whining noise that turned out to be something simple, or am I looking at a major repair bill soon?
